Choose Stretch Marks Removal Treatments - Enjoy Beautiful Skin
By Apurvashree

Today there are many treatments available for stretch marks removal - from laser surgery to home remedies. However, when a treatment is available free of cost, why one should go for an expensive treatment. If this is the question in your mind then lets study the effects of various treatment for stretch marks.

What Are Stretch Marks?

Rapid expansion of skin due to pregnancy or weight gain gives birth to fine lines on the skin, which are referred as stretch marks. These stretch marks lines are red in beginning, then turn purple, and then gradually fade into silvery streaks, finally turning into white lines. They usually occur during pregnancy on breast, upper arms, thighs or buttocks i.e. parts where fat is stored.

Men and woman who put on a lot of weight or lose their weight in short span of time often see these ugly stretch marks in places mentioned above and look for the methods for stretch marks removal.

Causes For Stretch Marks

When the body is suddenly stretched, the outer layer of the skin remains unaffected but the middle layer becomes thinner with which the blood vessels under the skin becomes visible in the form of red lines. Later, these blood vessels contract and give silvery white color to stretch marks. As mentioned below there are various causes for the occurrence of stretch marks.

  • Weight Loss or Gain: Weight loss or gain is a common problem among all the women. Some reduce weight to look attractive while some gain weight due to pregnancy. In case one gains weight and wants to reduce it, then one should not go on a constant diet, but should try to lose weight slowly so that the skin does not gets strained.

  • Adolescent Growth: Growing age of boys and girls is another cause for stretch marks as during this puberty period they tend to grow very fast. Usually boys get stretch marks on shoulders and girls on breasts, thighs, and hips. You should be health conscious from the beginning of your life so that you never need to look for stretch marks removal treatments.

  • Pregnancy: Pregnancy is the most common cause of pregnancy stretch marks as 80% - 90% women face this

problem. During pregnancy when you put on weight, the stomach is stretched and leading to stretched marks.

  • Athletes: Weight lifters and body builders want to build their muscles bulk in short span of time which again results in ugly stretch marks.

    Treatment For Removing Stretch Marks

Today there are various creams and lotions available in market for pregnancy stretch marks removal. These lotions for stretch marks prove to be a cheap way of getting rid of a huge problem. These lotions include moisturizing creams that contains Vitamin A or Vitamin E. Continuous massage of the affected areas with these lotions can remove stretch marks to a great extent. Further, creams containing Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs), Tretinoin or Retin-A also help. Though these creams do not completely remove stretch marks, they help lighten the lines largely.

Beside lotions, there is another effective way of stretch marks removal and it is the laser treatment of stretch marks. It is recommended that the laser surgery should be carried out only when the marks are red as the laser rays cannot detect the marks that have faded or turned white. No doubt, Laser treatment for stretch marks is the most expensive option to choose as it requires number of treatment sessions.

Pregnancy stretch marks are natural and preventive. They are not harmful at all. Therefore, one should study and think a lot before opting for a particular solution for stretch marks removal.
