Study In The Uk Shows Alternative Infertility Treatment Success

In 1995, a study was conducted in the United Kingdom by Surrey University and the Association for the Promotion of Preconception Care to show that preconception care is a large part of successful treatment. While not often prescribed as treatment by doctors, the study provides evidence that preconception care can provide an treatment success story to the couples that use it!

Many doctors (general practitioners and OB/GYN's) may insist there is no sound proof to preconception care being an effective treatment option for unknown causes of infertility- the study by Surrey University and the Association proves otherwise! The participants of the treatment study had all experienced some sort of reproductive problems in their past- from the inability to become pregnant, to having miscarriages, having low birth weight babies, stillborn babies or babies with a malformation.

The treatment study of improving preconception care for both the mother and father to be was conducted over a period of 18 months. At the conclusion of the treatment study, the results showed that preconception care is a valuable treatment option that resulted in 89% of the 367 couples in the study giving birth, with 81% of the previously infertile couples giving birth! What's more amazing, is following the treatment program of careful preconception

care resulted in no miscarriages (in a group that size you might expect about 70 miscarriages) and no malformations (when about 12 babies would be expected to be born with malformations under normal conditions).

This study is a good indication that treatment involving quality preconception care is important for the parents-to-be. Improving the parents health as an treatment is a successful way to overcome some causes of infertility, and it's certainly an treatment option worth exploring if you are having trouble conceiving.
